Which step comes first?
Order matters more than any single product. If water reaches the crawl after storms, drainage goes in first, because a liner laid over wet soil only hides the problem. Next comes any repair to framing or insulation while the space is open. Then the liner covers the ground and walls and the vents get closed. Last, a dehumidifier holds the air in range through the summer.
Not every home needs all four. A newer house with a dry crawl may need only the liner and the dehumidifier. An inspection with moisture readings tells you which steps apply, and the specialist who calls you back can explain the reasoning for each one.
